So I have taken my very first steps outside of the United States. I have to thank my children for always being my constant reminder that it was my dream to see the world and create change. #lovethosekids @ariqWalkey, @JordanWalkey, @BlakePatricia. So far my trip has been exhausting, exciting, and relaxing all at once. Starting in the busy city of Madrid, Jordan took me on a fast paced walking tour, Plaza Major, Plaza Sol and the San Miguel Market…Girl got speed! Jordan and Ariq then took me to the beautiful walled city of Avila.
It was amazing, the cathedrals exquisite but the best moment was finding a pastry my mother made for me as a child.
Next up was a Bla Bla car ride to Alicante. Its just a fancy fun way name for an Uber. Four hours from Madrid I arrived to tiled sidewalks and a cool sea breeze. The Castillo De Santa Barbara is right outside Ariq’s window that was a great surprise. The walk to the beach was quick while the beach itself was quiet. Perhaps it is the changing season, but then I realized there is no music. I found out playing loud music was frown upon…so I just kept my JAM classic close and low.
The beach was wonderful not too hot and not too cold it was just right beach weather. I am looking forward to today, going to San Juan Beach, walking the Castillo, buying groceries and having more drinks and tapas before heading home. I can say, so far my first Stamp has been an excellent adventure
